Golfing day raises £36,761 for local Cancer Charity
Shane Geraghty from Thames Materials organised a Golf day with Fiona Hussery of LJMC to honour a member of our staff, Sheila Melvin (Office Manager), who died in May 2014.
A corporate golf day was organised in the summer and it smashed all previous fundraising records for Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre. This made it their most successful event ever raising £36,761 for LJMC.
“We are glad to support a local charity that did so much for Sheila.”
– Martin Clarke (Managing Director of Thames Materials)
“Sheila would have been overwhelmed by everyone’s kindness”.
– Geoff (Sheila’s husband)
Altogether 15 teams took part in the day which included golf, dinner, prize-giving and an auction of golf related prizes. A huge thanks to our staff who worked tirelessly to make the day a big success.
