Brentham Football Club have unveiled their new changing rooms which were part-funded by Thames Materials as part of their “Supporting Local Business and the Local Community through Local Sponsorship” campaign.
Our drivers have undergone professional training courses to boost awareness of the hazards faced by cyclists on the roads. A team of 20 drivers from Thames Drivers swapped the comfort of their driving cabins for cycles and found themselves wobbling unsteadily amid refuse lorries, coaches and a road-sweeper. The drivers learned how cyclists cope with the threat of sudden door opening, HGVs turning left without warning and dealing with impatient car drivers. Thames Materials completed a sponsorship of Isleworth Colts U12’s football team, providing them with some new kits. A spokesman for Thames said “ We are keen to work with the local communities on deals such as these which encourages kids to get active”.
The new football season couldn’t come quickly enough for one Ealing team. The Pitshanger U15B team has been waiting months for some competitive action, since the club made the decision to form a second team for this age group. With a full squad competing for places in the ‘A’ team, and other boys looking to join all the time, there seemed to be a strong demand for another team.
