Central Park, Dagenham Improvements

Thames Materials have begun the soil importation work on a project to deliver £1 million worth of improvements to Central Park in Dagenham. The works include the creation of a new ‘story telling area, amphitheatre, capable of hosting an array of events and performances. There will also be a play park for toddlers and young children and an adventure playground for older children while the park’s community use tennis courts will be refurbished. A mile of new pathways will be also incorporated into the park. Work is expected to be completed by end of 2023.

Improving conditions at Bannister Park

Thames Materials are working alongside their client and Harrow Council. The topsoil has been stripped to make way for imported soil and stone which will improve the sub layer of the site along with improving the drainage. The soil has been reinstated to spec within agreed timescales. Thames materials have been awarded the project to work on by importing suitable materials from building sites. Work is expected to take up to 24 months.

Improving drainage at Wycombe Heights.

Thames Material secured the rights to provide suitable construction material under CLAIRE to complete a project to improve the drainage and conditions of the ground on the Driving Range at Wycombe Heights. The project involved stripping of all topsoil and reinstatement once completed with additional seeding as required. This project was completed in Oct 2018.

Thames Materials raises £60,000 for charity

Thames Materials raised nearly £60k on their golf day split between two very worthwhile causes – Prostrate Cancer UK and Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre. It was a brilliant day and well supported by customers and friends of the company and with perfect weather to complete the day. The auction was a tremendous success. A perfect evening completed with a question and answer session involving Roy Keane and Mick Fitzgerald.

Bulk dig for Battersea Power Station

Working alongside MPB, Thames Material were instructed for this bulk excavation project for a quantity of 45,000 m3.

Bulk dig for Soho House in Shoreditch

TML were instructed to undertake a bulk dig on a site for Soho House in Shoreditch. Working alongside the ground worker, we dug a double basement. This was done working to levels within the agreed timescale.

Golf Day raises £63k for charities

The sun was out once again for our third Sheila Melvin (Gomes) Memorial Cup Charity Golf Day in memory of Sheila a member of staff. With 25 teams of four enjoying a good breakfast they were then on the tees for 12 Noon at the Buckinghamshire Golf Club in Denham. This year we were raising money for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre at the Mount Vernon Hospital where Sheila was cared for and the Sam Beare Hospice in Woking – PauLet’s Room in memory of Bob & Sue Kensey’s daughter Paulet who sadly died at a young age.
