Thames Materials continue their sponsorship of Brentham Football Club for two more years. This part their “Supporting Local Business and the Local Community through Local Sponsorship” campaign.

Securing the Norwood Green open space

Thames materials were appointed by Ealing Council to construct a soil bund around the perimeter of Norwood Green open space to secure Area from unwanted guests. Thames Materials sourced suitable clean inert material from local construction projects to complete the project to satisfaction of the council in May- June 2017.

Thames Materials remember the colleague and raise £38k for charity

Thames Materials raised an amazing £38,382.52 at their Charity Golf Day on 8th July 2016 held at the Buckinghamshire Golf Course in Denham. This event was run in the memory of the company’s office manager, Sheila Melvin (Gomes), who died in May 2014. This year, the proceeds were donated to Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre (LJMC) in Uxbridge where Sheila was treated and The Alzheimer’s Society – a charity close to heart of Thames Materials. Urban Safe Driving Training for our staff

In line with our commitment to road safety, Thames Materials have completed another safe urban driving course for our drivers. This course focuses on ensuring our drivers are able to share the city streets safely with vulnerable road users, including pedestrians and cyclists. This included ‘real life’ training where the drivers experience cyclist’s perspective.

“Wear it Pink” at Thames Materials

Many of our staff and drivers wore pink to the office on Friday the 23rd of October, the “Wear It Pink” Day, to raise awareness about Breast Cancer. We raised an amazing £297 from donations and cake/sweet sales to our visitors and nearby offices.

Golfing day raises £36,761 for local Cancer Charity

Shane Geraghty from Thames Materials organised a Golf day with Fiona Hussery of LJMC to honour a member of our staff, Sheila Melvin (Office Manager), who died in May 2014. A corporate golf day was organised in the summer and it smashed all previous fundraising records for Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre. Thames Materials is awarded FORS Gold accreditation

Thames Materials has recently been awarded FORS Gold accreditation. This is the highest level of accreditation achievable through FORS. Thames has now entered the small group of companies who are FROS gold across the whole of the UK. The Gold accreditation is issued to companies who have reached the highest level in efficiency, safety, blind spot reduction and are continually looking at ways to improve.

Thames Materials gets CLOCS certification

At Thames Materials Ltd we are committed to improving the health and safety standards across all of our operations, including work-related road safety. We recently achieved certification for the ‘CLOCS Standard for Construction Logistics: Managing Work related road risk (WRRR)’ supported by the Health and Safety Executive and Department for Transport, having fitted our own fleet with safety equipment and trained our drivers in vulnerable road user safety. Cheshunt Football Club selects Thames Materials

Non-league Cheshunt Football Club has selected Thames Materials to provide the construction materials for their new state-of-the-art training facilities at their home on Theobalds Lane. The plans, to overhaul 16 acres of land to provide high quality playing surfaces, install a sustainable irrigation system and a full size floodlit artificial pitch, was given planning permission in October 2013 and featured in the popular series “Permission Impossible” on BBC2.
